Barb Venable is proud to announce her candidacy for Bell County Jailer as a Republican.
After being sworn in on January 30, 2025, following the passing of her husband and former Jailer Robin Venable, Barb has continued their shared mission to improve the Bell County Detention Center and strengthen rehabilitation opportunities for inmates.
Since taking office, the Venable Administration has delivered meaningful improvements focused on rehabilitation, education, and facility safety. Major accomplishments include:

Launching GED and educational programs to support inmate development

Implementing recovery classes and expanding access to treatment resources

Establishing pathways for peer support certification

Creating a pre-release initiative to improve reentry success

Forming new partnerships with local recovery ministries and community groups

Completing essential facility upgrades to enhance safety and daily operations
Barb’s focus remains on breaking the cycle of recidivism by addressing root causes like substance abuse and mental health through education, treatment, and strong community support. She is committed to leading with compassion, accountability, and meaningful progress for the people of Bell County.
